Sanyo announces 2 new high resolution, high brightness projectors

The Sanyo PDG-DET100JL (Black) and LP-WTC500L (White) are sold at around 1,050,000 Yen / 7,797 Euro / US$10,898. These projectors are Sanyo's latest high-resolution video projectors (SXGA+ 1400x1050 for the DET100JL and XGA for the WTC500L), with an incredible brightness of 7500 lumens (DET100JL) and 5000 lumens (WTC500L). Tokyo, June 17, 2009 - SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) is pleased to announce the launch of two high-resolution high-brightness projector models, the LP-WTC500L on July 21, and the PDG-DET100JL on August 21, 2009.
The PDG-DET100JL is compatible with high-resolution SXGA+ (1,400 x 1,050) and has the highest brightness in its class at 7,500 lumens. In addition, ‘DICOM Simulation Mode precisely reproduces medical-related high-resolution data which makes it ideal for use at medical education institutions.
The LP-WTC500L is compatible with high-resolution Wide XGA (1,280 x 800 dots) and has a high-brightness of 5,000 lumens. Its ‘Lamp Selection System’ automatically selects one of the two installed lamps to project from, enabling the lamp replacement interval to be twice as long as conventional one-lamp models.

Gemballa mods the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio into something even more fierce

Epic Porsche tuner, Gemballa has taken a new 911 Turbo Cabrio and has turned it into the new Avalanche GTR 650 EVO-R. As the name states, this newly tuned Porsche will push 650hp at 700lb-ft (950Nm) of torque.

Thanks to the various upgrade to the engine and body, the Avalanche GTR 650 EVO-R can reach a maximum speed of 205mph.

Featuring gull wing doors and headlights taken from the Carrera GT supercar, the car also uses unique steel extensions welded directly onto the body shell in order to widen the car. The car also features a new hood and custom side skirts, a carbon-fiber front skirt, and a new rear skirt to match the customized LED taillights. There’s also a built-in rear diffuser to help improve downforce, as well as a new rear wing.


The engine gets a new race-spec crankshaft, forged pistons and high-flow turbochargers. There are also new camshafts and cylinder heads, and a high-performance exhaust system that helps give the car a much louder growl than the standard model.
