I wish I lived near Akihabara! The great minds at Mouse Computer have started selling a built-to-order Core i7 equipped desktop at US$1049. The Lm-i460S will use either Windows XP Home/Pro SP3 or Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit (with the option of upgrading to the Ultimate version, as well).

The standard specs for the Lm-i460S feature the Core i7-920 (2.66GHz) processor, 3GB of RAM (PC3-10600), Intel X58 Express, a 1TB HDD, DVD Super Multi and GeForce 9500GT (512MB of VRAM).

You can obviously upgrade your PC with a Core i7 945 (3.ooGHz) or 965 (3.20GHz), up to 12GB of RAM, a 1.5 or 2TB HDD, a Blu-Ray Burner (8x) and a GeForce 9800GT (512MB of VRAM) or GT250 (1GB of VRAM).

The specs on the lower-end model are great for the price. However, you will still have to grab a monitor, if you need one.
