Sharp announces solar hybrid phone for China

Sharp has been talking about internationalizing its phone business for quite some time now, which makes sense, since they only sold around 20% of their phones outside of Japan.

So, the company is planning to export one of its solar energy-powered cell phones to China (maybe other countries later). The SOLAR HYBRID SH6230C features a solar cell module, a 2.9-inch LCD screen and a 5MP auto-focus camera.

It’s the first solar-powered cell phone Sharp will market outside of Japan, too. People in China can purchase one of these in blue or white for around US $500 next month.

The Sharp Muramasa MM50F gets revived

The Muramasa MM50F came out in 2003 and was an ultra slim desktop that could be plugged into a cradle like a PDA to access its internal data and charge the battery. Now, Gigabyte has the M1022M Netbook, which is very similar to the original.

The M1022M is powered by an Atom N280, with 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD, WiFi N… and will be released in Japan at the end of the month. No word on the price yet.
