Century announces new 8TB HDD enclosure

Century Japan just announced a new four slot HDD enclosure (CRIB35EU2) that supports 4x 2TB SATA HDDs in different Raid configurations like Raid 0/1/3/5/10, etc. It will be compatible with PC and MAC, too. This USB and eSATA HDD case features a 120W power supply and will be sold in Japan or online here.

Need a shockproof external USB HDD?

Buffalo's new HD-PXU2 will be available in both 250GB and 500GB versions with an integrated USB cable and enclosed with a shockproof casing. The HD-PXU2 series are TurboUSB and encrypt data on the go. This HDD is also available in red, black, or white colors.

The new Triple Interface eGo Portable Hard Drive features one FireWire 800 port, one FireWire 400 port, and one USB 2.0 port, and comes in variety of colors and capacities: the Apple-esque Alpine White model is available in 250GB; the deep Midnight Blue model is available in 320GB; and the Ruby Red model comes in 500GB. The Samsung STORY Station is a 1.5TB HDD with 2 external USB HDD enclosures fitted into it. The only issue with this HDD, is that it does not have an eSATA or FireWire 800 port. The STORY Station will also be available in 500GB and 1TB sizes.

Developed by Unitek, this HDD bay contains a 2.5" SATA HDD enclosure, SD(HC) and MicroSD(HC) card readers, and a four pin power port. If you're looking for some enginuitive portability, you might want to keep an eye out for this. Currently, there is no news on a price or release date.
