1st: Production of AMOLED panels with built-in touch tech

Samsung will be the first to start mass production of AMOLED panels with built-in touch technology.

Current touchscreen products feature a separate touch sensor on top of the display, whereas this new3.3-inch WVGA (480 x 800) resolution panel is an AMOLED display with touch function thanks to the hybrid technology allowing the placement of the touch sensor over the AMOLED substrate. This new development translates into sharper, higher quality images.

The mass production is planned to start in March.
